Have you ever wondered what fuels my passion for riding? It all began during my school days when I heard mesmerizing tales of bike expeditions from my tutor, with ten friends cruising on their trusty RE Bullets. Even then, I couldn’t help but dream about my own adventures, exploring the world on two wheels.
Learning to ride from my uncle, I would sneak out whenever possible, itching to feel the thrill of the road. Finally, when I turned 18, I clinched my license on the first attempt! My real biking journey began when I joined #TOI’s All India Women Bike Rally in 2013, where fate introduced me to my partner-in-crime, Raima Samui, the Founder of Bengal Lady Biker.
With my trusty second-hand HONDA UNICORN, my wheels kissed the sands of Mandarmoni Beach, marking the beginning of countless unforgettable rides with fellow enthusiasts. Balancing work and my travel dreams was never easy, but the support of my friends and my beloved Bajaj Avenger 220cc, lovingly called Avvy, helped me realize my dreams. The biking community in West Bengal, especially Bajaj Avenger Club Kolkata and Live2Ride, became my second family.
My first mountain ride in Gangtok, Sikkim, added a new dimension to my passion. The thrill of conquering the hills was indescribable. In 2016, I embarked on my ‘Journey of Aspirations’ to the Indian South Coastal, propelled solely by my undying love for riding. Leaving Kolkata was tough, but the warmth of my friends and the magic of social media kept me connected to my roots.
Transitioning to Pune, I joined BAC – Pune, amplifying my adventures with their enthusiastic club. The call of Ladakh beckoned, and with the support of my new riding family, especially the ever-reliable Sridhar Uncle, I triumphed in my first Pune to Ladakh Ride, etching unforgettable memories into my soul.
This is just the beginning of my endless quest for the open road. Many more miles await, and I’m ready to embrace every journey with open arms!
